Making An Impact

  • Love Our City is a partner agency of the Oregon Food Bank, which provides some of the food we distribute each week including: bread, produce, dry goods, canned goods, meat, fish, eggs and more.  In addition, approximately half of the food in our boxes comes from donations from Fresh Alliance grocery stores including:  Albertsons, Safeway, Fred Meyer, Whole Foods and Trader Joe's.
  • Every month, Love Our City distributes over 600 food boxes—each containing approximately 3-4 days’ worth of fresh, healthy food—to families in our community. With an estimated value of $150 per box, we provide the essentials, including dry goods, bread, fresh produce, dairy, eggs, and  meat. In total, we distribute over 23,000 pounds of food, feeding around 2,500 meals each month.
  • Love Our City is a volunteer-driven organization with approximately 50 volunteers who pick up donations at partner grocery stores, prepare food boxes, keep the pantry clean and maintained, and perform various administrative tasks.
  • Food box distribution: food boxes are distributed at no cost to the public on Tuesdays via an outside, drive through and pick up system.  People are also able to walk up to the pantry building to receive food.
  • Serving other organizations: we provide food and food boxes to schools, community groups and other non-profit organizations by request. Between 2020 and 2024 Love Our City has supported University of Oregon, Bybee Lakes Hope Center, Hacienda CDC, Sabin Elementary, Scott Elementary, Project Lemonade and 'Live Love Christmas' at Mannahouse Church.
  • Urgent and emergency services: food, clothing, winter coats, backpacks, tents, blankets, medical supplies and hygiene packs. We have provided these services and hosted donation drives onsite to help the families impacted by the Oregon fires in September 2020, the Clara Vista apartment fire in January 2021, and Ukrainian refugees (in partnership with the Ukrainian Bible Church).
  • Seasonal services for low income households: Bouquets of flowers, Easter baskets, Mothers Day gift bags, Halloween candy bags and costumes, Thanksgiving meals, Christmas trees and Christmas decor.
  • Community events: MLK Day of Service event, Summer Community Block Party, Winter Holiday Cheer Event, Teacher Appreciation Day events at local elementary schools, and flowers donated directly to the community.
